Food Truck (Sungai Wang)

I have once seen the lively and colourful Food Truck area in Sungai Wong, well hidden away somewhere off the track of traffic. There was colourful and creative interior design here.

The spaghetti bolognaise was very worth the price ordered as there was an avalanche of bolognaise sauce on top. There was also a piece of grilled lamb at the side. Below is the image of the food stall selling delicious affordable western food.

Gangnam 88

I am not sure what is with us Malaysians who like Gangnam88 so much so finally I decided to try it in Puchong Setia Walk when we had a Star Wars movie to watch in the afternoon. Most of the food here is very expensive at almost RM 25-30.

There are a lot of side dishes and they didn't complain for getting second helpings of the banchan. My favourite are the spinach and ladies fingers. I didn't like the orange sweet potatoes, fishcakes and fried stuff.

Jajangmyeon Noodles

The portion of noodles looks really big served in a big pot with black fungus and sliced cucumber and a lot of sauce. Furthermore, the noodles is really sticky and not up to my taste.

Kimchi Seafood Noodles

I am not sure what went into us that all the items we order today has noodles in it. The soup was not thick enough in terms of kimchi flavours. Again the portion is really big till 2 pax can share the same noodles.

Kris Krust

I am the type of person who looks for the weirdest or shall I say most unique food or restaurant everywhere I go so naturally I did exactly that when I went to MyTown Shopping Centre in Cheras for lunch.

I ordered Kris Krust which was actually burger made from puff instead of burger buns! The idea and concept is also unique but not many customers knew how to eat this or is willing to experiment.

I had mine with the pastry and also delicious tender beef patty in between. It also came with sides which are deep fried orange potatoes, wow, isn't that special?

O Banh Mi

I have always liked Vietnamese Banh Mi so much so that I had it as my breakfast in Perth!

This time round I had Banh Mi at O Banh Mi in 1 Utama whereby the french bread was very springy and chewy. I liked the preserved turnip and carrots in the middle. I liked the super spicy Vietnamese chilli sauce.

Jonathan, as usual, love this chicken wing but he said it was a bit too dry here. I also ordered my favourite lemongrass drink.

Maison de Gigi

Ever since I heard this unique name in Facebook, I have a secret wish to try the desserts which is waffles. It is located at the ground floor of Sunway Pyramid and we went there one day after a lot of walking. I like the modern chic interior design that is quite striking.

We had some curry thing inside the waffle sandwich which was just normal and nothing to shout about and also some soda drink.

The price is quite expensive at about RM 20 ++ for these.

Like to Eat Seafood

I once saw some sort of discount  for crab at this simple restaurant in USJ 1 and brought Jonathan there for his birthday treat by my mother. To our despair, there was no crab on that day. We ordered simple food as Jonathan didn't appreciate the fine dining I brought him during lunch.

Tofu

Tofu is always ordered in replacement of protein as I don't  eat rice or have carbs at dinner.

Butter Pork Ribs

The deep fried pork ribs was cooked in milky style with buttermilk, which was so tasty.

Deep Fried Baby Octopus

The honey glazed deep fried baby octopus with pineapple were delicious and crispy and sweet.

Steamed Fish with Soy Sauce

This is cooked the Sabahan way which is with soy sauce but not what I fancy. The fish is tender and fresh.

Chilli's

The reason I rarely go to Chilli's is the price is too expensive for high carbohydrates items which are fattening fast food. If we went with a lot of company, the portion ended up too small for us which was what happened when we came here with Zinyi who was Ambrother of Vincent Wong. The total bill came up to more than RM 150 for something that we had still room left in the stomach.

Mix & Match Fajitas

This is considered one of the famous items here and the shrimps are springy and delicious, that we couldn't have enough from the small portion. It is cooked together with white chicken breast. It is served with warm nan bread and also tasty sides of avocado guacamole and salsa sauce with sliced cheese.

Santa De Crispers Salad

This consists of Chicken Crispers with pico, avocado, cilantro, tortilla strips, house-made ranch and a drizzle of Santa Fe Sauce but the portion is smaller than expected.

Boneless Wings

These are totally delicious as they are crispy and sweet together.

Cajun Pasta

The pasta was so plain and really so simple our eyes popped out when it arrived! I am sure I could cook better!

Sushi Mentai

I'm not sure what is the rage about Sushi Mentai but probably because more and more people like to eat Japanese food but coming from the middle class, we need to look for affordability.

So here I am trying to find out what is the rage. There were quite a lot of people here for dinner too and after some time, they found us a small table but not near the conveyor.

As usual, I don't ever walk into any Japanese restaurant without ordering sashimi. The verdict, just nice but not thick and fresh enough.

The tempura is always a must order for Jonathan as he likes fried items. It was ok and not bad.

The rest of the items I ate were just sushi. The price was not that cheap as the total bill came up to RM 50-60

Niko-niko Onigiri

Since my favourite food is Japanese, I am always on the lookout for affordably priced Japanese food. So here I was at Puchong looking for lunch on a rainy day and noticed this cafe which was teemed with people. It seems it was because of the super cheap prices like less than RM 15 per set lunch for expensive stuff like Teppanyaki.

I ordered Teppanyaki Beef which comes with bean sprouts, fried till fragrant and tasty.

They were also nice to change my white rice to mashed potatoes which turned out to be 3 creamy scoops which was even more fattening.

Jonathan ordered the Japanese Curry Rice with fried chicken chop (karaage) as side dish. The curry also contained a lot of potatoes and chicken inside too.

Kuching Noodle House

I think I am somewhat related to East Malaysia as I love things like Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee together.

I am very happy because compared to the Sarawak Noodles in Taman Paramount, this shop allows me to have Kuching Laksa together with kolo mee. There is also big prawns and a lot of ingredients inside like sliced omelette and tasty sambal.

Jonathan purposely ordered Kolo Mee with smoked duck for me to try, nothing much so shout about except the duck.

The Dessert Shop (Kuantan)

It was my last day in Kuantan and I was still dying to try some local food and finally got the chance when brought to The Dessert Shop beside Amway Kuantan Shop. When I first got there, I was a bit hesitant as I thought how my colleague would feel full from desserts but little did I know I did regret having eaten quite a few spoonful of  bihun siam at the hotel just now.

Wine Chicken Bihun (RM 10.90)

I am always happy whenever I could have wine chicken soup. The soup was so fragrant and delicious with tender chicken! It was quite a long while since I have had such delicious wine chicken. There were a lot of black fungus and sliced ginger inside which added into the fragrance.

Rojak (RM 6.90)

The rojak is just the Penang sweet version and reminds me of my hometown.

Sungai Lembing Tomato Sauce Spaghetti (RM 7.50)

Actually, this is more like Sg Lembing version of pasta whereby the noodles were locally made. The sauce was just nice, not too sour or sweet and balanced by the egg and vegetables. Totally heavenly!

Fried Beancurd (RM 4.50)

I never knew that Sg Lembing is well known for making soft tofu! It was beautifully fried and I could not stand having the last piece when urged to do it!

Deep Fried Pancake (RM 3.80)

The fritters were deep fried till super thin and crispy that I could not seem to have enough of it.

I also liked the ginger glutinous balls with mixed fillings (RM 5.50) and also the thick sesame paste (RM 4.50) which made me fill super full!
