Yeast Atelier

When I first saw many blogs detailing the great French food at Yeast, I have kept a wish to try the food here one fine day. But it seems the price is quite expensive here till I decided to walk in today to check out the price, when my friend wanted to treat me for my belated birthday lunch. I was bored of Mid Valley that he wanted to go originally.

Cappucino-Hazelnut (RM 14)

They actually sell the best cappuccino I have ever tasted in my life. It is very dark full of chocolate taste.

Duck Confit (RM 36)

This duck confit is much better than the one at Alexis. It is so much more tender and the skin is also soft. The salad has light dressing too and not as thick as mayonaise or thousand island. There are a few pieces of roasted potatoes to eat together. There are also some deep fried onions, fried till crispy and fragrant.

Cocotte (RM 20)

The Filipina waitress recommended Cocotte to us. The boiled egg inside is so fluffy and soft. The egg tastes so well with the french bread albeit too hard to be bitten. The egg here is better than some others.

Chocolate Lava Molten Cake (RM 27)

This seems to be the only dessert in the menu that comes with pistachio ice-cream so I ordered it though I felt that molten chocolate lava cake is quite normal nowadays and not that great. Yeast has a lot of other pastries that are freshly made too. Nevertheless, the pistachio ice-cream was did much consolation for the normal cake as normally people only serve this cake with vanilla ice-cream.

Fancy hearing me say that what I like most about Yeast is the French music inside the washroom! The washroom also looks classical french!

The food is cooked fresh here. The small cafe is teeming with patrons all the time whether it is dinner or breakfast time as they have food for all timings.

The only disadvantage is that you pay for a high price but sit at hot humid cafe as the air-condition is not powerful enough also due to the open door concept.

Haikara Style Cafe

Visiting Jusco Shah Alam was a big journey of discovering many eateries, that are new and unique with names such as Orchid, to Windmill, Red Lobster, Secret Recipe, Yoshinoya to even Mukano Chocolate Cafe. There was even a Vanguard Cafe there! I noticed there are many Japanese shops there too including a Japanese optical shop!

Since we have had dinner, I decided to fulfill my ice-cream craving by sharing a cup of matcha ice-cream, called Majeil meaning home made soft ice-cream. I ordered the Kyoto Matcha Red Bean (RM 8) which even came with cornflakes at the bottom, a dollop of honey and the smoothest red bean in the world that was so fresh and soft.

This cafe is also famous for matcha latte so I ordered the matcha latte at only RM 7! The latte had just the right amount of milk and we could still taste the green tea bitterness!

There are Japanese eating here too due to the owner is Japanese guy probably with his son operating the business. We were initially drawn to eat there because of the Japanese boss.

After eating, I had fun taking photos at the four season photo spots in the mall, normally conveniently located near the escalators.

Eat One More

I think I have kind of over-ordered today. Szechuan food just take ages to arrive but when it did, it arrived a lot. The cafe at Section 14, PJ, near Digital Mall, lack good ventilation and smells of too much chilli oil.

Szechuan Chilli Fish

The fish is very soft and had bean sprouts inside. I still prefer the one served by the other szechuan cafe in SS14.

Seaweed Appetizer

I have always been a big fan of seaweed and loved this one to bits. It is super spicy too and the portion is awfully big that we kept it for cooking with spaghetti the next day.

Handmade Noodles with Meat

The portion is again so big that it fits for two, so if you come here, do order 1 bowl of noodles to be shared. There is capsicum inside too. The noodles are just ok if you like pan mee but not that great if you like the noodles to be smooth like how I do.

Gyoza

The gyoza is just normal and not that special.

The whole bill came up to almost RM 70!
