Kobe Japanese Dining & La Mexicana

It seems that I am a person who likes celebrating birthdays that I even celebrated Jonathan's birthday 1 week before the actual date. Initially we booked the place through Eatigo but then they said it did not apply on that day that we go as Jon booked Sunday instead of Saturday. Place is too quiet as though we book the entire restaurant.

The prices of the Japanese food are quite expensive so we took a long time to decide what to order. The place looks like the photos with a swimming pool in the middle.

Jon commented the place looks weird to sell Mexican and Japanese food together. We didn't know there is a Mexican menu till we finished eating.

After hesitating for a long time, we finally ordered Dragon Maki (RM 28.90) with deep fried prawn which was not cheap. The avocado and prawn combination was good. The texture was ok but not of very high grade.

Australian Beef Teppanyaki (RM 39.90)

The beef teppanyaki was fragrant and done quite alright. The sauce on top was delicious, a little spicy mix.

Buta Kimuchi (RM 19.90)

Since the portions were quite small, we decided to order the kimchi pork but the kimchi was overpowering so we had to order white rice which cost a whopping RM 4.90 for hardened white rice! This took  almost 30 mins to arrive because we guessed they ordered from outside.

Panchos

Me, my mother and my friend went to a fair in Mid Valley Mall last Sunday and after being tired of walking around, we were hungry and went to the upstairs mezzanine area to find a cafe to eat.

I like the Mexican backdrop and setting of this cafe opened by a Korean guy. There are Mexican sombreros on the counter for customers to try out. There is also a llama statue at the entrance of the door.

We ordered the chicken, beef and also fish soft tacos whereby 3 pieces cost RM 21 whereas 1 piece cost RM 7 plus. To my friend, he thought that the tacos is just normal as we could not differentiate the chicken/fish/beef fillings as from the outside, all look the same with the onion and tomato salsa.

I like the fact that we can eat nachos with a myriad of sauces like mandarin orange, jalapeno and original. We could also have sliced preserved jalapeno.
