Peppercorn Cafe

I passed by this cafe once and saw quite a crowd so we came today to try but there was no one at all.

Escargot (RM 15)

Since escargot seems like something special that we are not able to eat elsewhere, so automatically I ordered this.

Mixed Grill (RM 31)

We also ordered a mixed grill that came with steak, chicken, fish, mussels. The salad has an overload of mayonaise.

The Porki Culture

Ever since we found many cafes and restaurants at The Sphere, we were trying out one by one every time we go to Bangsar South Vertical Suites.

We saw Porki Culture whereby the price was a bit more reasonable.

Combo A S1 (RM 18.90)

This combo of boat noodles came with a stick of pork ball and BBQ pork.

Pineapple Fried Rice (RM 19.90)

Though the price is quite high for just pineapple price, but there were prawns and also a lot of ingredients inside.

Empty Cup Cafe

Around our housing area, there were no cafes except this one which we saw when we had our lunch at Kim Hing Kee KK Sang Nyuk Mee a few shops away. So we met our friend there.

Mango Berry Sparkler (RM 12)

I had the Mango Berry Sparkler since I was on a coffee diet. I wanted to try the coffee so much since they do very good coffee art here. The sparkler is just soda with mango syrup.

Carbonara with Bacon (RM 19)

The Carbonara was quite delicious with a raw egg, mushrooms and bacon. There were so many pieces of bacon which was well worth the price paid.

Big Breakfast (RM 20)

The Big Breakfast also came in very huge portion and not bad for the taste.

Aka Cafe

Cafes with cute desserts are rare gems in KL so when I chanced upon Aka Cafe when googling online, I couldn't let go of the chance.

This cafe looks very cosy but the menu is rather limited, most of the desserts sold are dango and mochi, served in a presentable way and at quite a high price of at least RM 20 and above.

Gudetama themed mochi set came with sesame flavours overall for the ice-cream, and Gudetama mochi. Even the egg tarts were served like a dim sum.

Watercress Hotpot Puchong

If you are into specialty steamboats like me, then you might want to give this place a try. Guess this makes this place quite popular. The watercress soup is very sweet from the natural flavours.

We ordered the 101 Golden Set which came with a number of items inside at RM 49.90 only.

As for the drinks. we ordered watercress herbal tea costing RM 3.50 a glass.

Bulgogi BBQ House

I was in the mood for some steamboat since I have eaten most dai chao (stir fry) and noodle items in East MY swing the last week but since most of the steamboat was quite pricey in Sri Petaling, ended up eating here which was a good discovery. It seems that there were so many cafes and eateries in Sri Petaling that most of them ended up empty and I worry how they survive. Yet many didn't offer much discount in the price to draw customers so this Bulgogi House had a lot of customers due to the buffet BBQ.

At least Bulgogi BBQ House has a specialty whereby at RM 25 per pax you have an all-you-can-eat BBQ set, meaning anything in the set can have repeated orders. If you want the Tobokki and also hotpot, you can choose the RM 29.99 set.

Anytime you want to repeat anything, you just need to place the spoon with the name of the order into the pail.

Our Happy Refill Set consists for BBQ Pork Belly, Chicken and also Beef Ball. There are also Kimchi Tofu Soup, Steamed Egg, Kimchi Pancake.

Simple side dishes on buffet are such as BBQ corn, onion pickle, wet seaweed, kimchi, edaname.

Memphis Bistro

Suddenly we have an urge to have oyster so we searched this place online and saw some old blog posts about the fresh oysters here which are quite reasonably priced. Boy were we shocked when saw the huge fresh oysters, the biggest I have seen in Malaysia! They are also one of the few who sell oysters individually at RM 9.70 per piece which was reasonable. They serve it with Tabasco and also Thai chilli sauce.

The restaurant is nothing fancy in terms of interior design, very simply designed with some cowboy and Tennessee photo frames only. I believe the chef is the owner as well.

The drinks are cheap at RM 5 per glass for iced lemon tea and the likes. It shows that they really emphasize on good food. There are not much variety in the menu with things like pasta, steaks, chicken and fish. But there is a Today's Special written on the board with seafood of the day and things like snapper, wagyu, burgers and etc

Pasta Ville (RM 20.50)

That's one of the second cheapest pasta in the menu since the rest are priced above RM 30. It was worth the price paid with a lot of fresh seafood inside. The fettucine was thickly coated with tomato based sauce which was unlike any bolognaise sauce which I initially thought.

Seafood Cerviche (RM 32)

I initially thought this is mixed grill but it turned out to be seafood with salad and a special dressing. Not bad as it comes with fish, prawns and octopus.

The entire dinner came up to a whopping RM 91.30 which was quite expensive for a Saturday dinner for us but then again they don't overcharge you if you consider the portions and freshness.
