Majestic Hotel KL Birthday Staycation (23-24 June 2018)

Suddenly last 2 weeks, Jonathan had a brilliant idea to have a Birthday Staycation on 23-24th June 2018 for our year 2018 joined birthday celebration. We had a pretty good deal of 40% online too for the room to cost about RM 360 for the deluxe room. I kept on googling for more info on what to eat here besides Contango the buffet restaurant and only found info on The Colonial which sells ala-carte fine-dining at certain times only, that costs RM 140-180 per pax for a course meal that covers conventional items like beef soup, chicken rice balls etc

In the morning, before we check in, I went to have a hair-do in preparation for my photoshoot whereby I paid a mere RM 28 to Hair Revolution for this beautiful mane.

I have always been harbouring a secret dream to staying there one day ever since I first went there for being involved in a company event many years ago and I saw all the regal antique type of furniture. Here I am finally! It was a different experience to lug our luggage here, like we were in Bali for 1 night! Even the bellboy are dressed in English guard uniform and they have crosses on their clothes showing their awards. We got into Room 1219 with city view of St Regis hotel.

The rooms has a slightly regal design to it but it maintains its overall as contemporary except for the four poster bed frame without the curtain. The bathtub does not have the old-fashioned legs like the one in E&O Hotel Penang. The toiletries and quality of things like bedroom slippers, are below par compared to many more 5 Star Hotels that I have stayed in.

The reason why I fell in love with the room besides the four poster bed is the bathtub in the middle of the huge bathroom with flat screen TV with exact same channels as the main TV. It was a my first time seeing a TV placed so strategically.

The tea are not premium but just local tea that are Cameronian and Green tea. There are only 2 coffee capsules in the room. Luckily there were 4 bottles of complimentary mineral water

His favourite couch and he never budges. Maybe we should rent the couch? I guess it's habitual

A lot of reading lamp on the desk and also tiny reading lamps at the corner of the bed for night reading.

Full of praises for the flatter pillows. The many fluffy pillows in a lot of luxury hotels are pointless when the fluffiness makes it difficult for the head to rest on.

The only shocking thing we heard upon check in was the RM 15 parking charges for staying guests that is totally unexpected as hotels do not usually charge for parking of the staying guests.

There is hourly shuttle from the hotel to Midvalley Mall and also Starhill to and fro. There is also shuttle to KL Sentral every half an hour, alighting at KLIA Express Departure and leaving for the hotel at KLIA Express Arrival. It was raining so we decided to take a shuttle to KL Sentral to get lunch.

Lunch at MCD KL Sentral - Nasi Lemak Burger

Recently there is a Buy 1 Free 1 Nasi Lemak Burger so we took the chance. We also ordered D24 Durian Myflurry as I recalled Francis liking it a lot.

Poor Jon eating MCD for his birthday lunch. Anyway we were too hungry to run around looking for other food.

Bought RM 5 discount voucher for Starbucks and got Pistachio Cream iced blended drink while waiting for the Majestic Shuttle back to hotel

Vintage Photoshoot

Met my ex-CG group member, Andrew who is a production studio owner and does part time as pianist every weekend Fri-Sunday in evening in The Colonial at 5-6pm
