Pims & The Rama

I was out going to One Utama for CNY clothing shopping and dropped by in Aman Suria for a quick lunch. We decided to try this new cafe called Pims & The Rama as there were lunch sets. Most of the workers are Thai and the superviser was still training them.

Lemongrass and Pork Fried Rice (RM 15.90)

This is just normal fried rice and nothing much to complain.

Pad Thai Noodles Prawn (RM 12.90)

The Pad Thai was quite ok but would have been better if spicier. They are generous with ingredients too.

Coconut Ice-Cream (RM 5)

For  lunch sets, we could add RM 5 to get a delicious coconut ice-cream which was almost like Sangkaya with crackers and also peanut cookies inside too! One could feel the chunks of coconut when eating this.

Frame Thai

I am the sort of person who go for any original Thai food cooked by Thai people so naturally Frame Thai was in my mind ever since I read about it in the blog. I tried entering Frame Thai in Happy Mansion with my colleague Sharine but the place was overcrowded that time. One fine day, a week after Sharine's birthdate, I decided to come here finally and also to give her a birthday treat. The place is brimming with officer workers on a weekday.

Pad Thai (RM 10)

One of the try-it-and-ban the cafe once and for all item is Pad Thai which I am very particular. It was not that oily and served in sizzling hotplate. The unique part is the use of omelette as the outer layer. The pad thai was not hot enough, not spicy enough too.

Seafood Fried Rice (RM 12)

The rice was weird that it was not fried hot but was cold when it arrived. They used purplish brown rice. It was our first time eating cold fried rice and swore never to order this again.

Grilled Pork (RM 8)

We ordered two sticks of BBQ pork which was tender and tasty. We also added Thai spicy sausage for RM 5.

Samet Thai

It was a long time since I have been to the original Samet Thai in Kuchai Lama and decided to bring Jonathan here since I felt like having Thai food but not wanting to spend a bomb on it. The food here is all cooked and operated by Thai people.

Clear Tomyam Soup

The clear tomyam soup is very sour and not spicy enough but of course there are a lot of ingredients inside like octopus, prawns and vegetables. I always thought the clear soup is spicier than the red soup.

Pineapple Fried Rice

The Thai people always know how to fry the most original pineapple rice till very fragrant with fried egg, prawns and octopus. There is creative garnishing with the pineapple designed to look like a fan.

BBQ Pork Neck

I am not a big fan of pork so I thought I would skip this dish but ended up eating so many pieces of the tender pork neck. I also like this cafe due to the varieties of Thai handmade chilli and sambal paste that I took 3 types of them.

Kompassion Thai Fusion Food

Food hunting always require a big budget so I always have to look for place that serves tasty food at a reasonable price which is not easy to find, if you are like me, a person who also wants the ambience together for the same price.

My sudden urge to eat Thai food today and then the continuous googling finally ended up with an incredible place called 'Kompassion' in Damansara Kim.

When we entered the cafe, I was pleasantly surprised to see the art and interior which looks almost like a Western restaurant rather than Thai.

The menu at one glance, looks expensive whereby most of the specials cost RM 38-60! Then thank god, I saw the last page shows a set meals which cost only RM 13.90-RM 15.90 per set including drinks of either iced lemon tea or lemongrass drink with fruits! They even serve us with complimentary chips for munching, compared to the chinese restaurants which usually charge for this.

That is very shocking for such a beautiful and sophisticated dining place. The garnishing was very good and the rice dishes are all made in the shape of square with side dishes nicely placed.

This cafe is also quite instagram friendly. With the reasonable priced and tasty food, quite a lot of customers patron it on a Saturday. The entire bill only came up to RM 34.75 including GST and 10% service charge!

Phad Thai Prawn (RM 13.90)

The Phad Thai is unique as it is made from linguini and very flavoursome and tasty. There are fresh bean sprouts, peanuts and chilli powder. The prawn is also quite big for that price.

Green Curry Fried Rice with BBQ Chicken (RM 15.90)

The rice is made in square shape and bursting with green curry flavours which was fried together with the rice. The BBQ chicken is also quite tender. There was my favourite kerabu mango as side dish too with delicious original Thai sambal!

A very contented guy

Elephant Thai

Whenever we talk about tasty Thai food in SS2 area, we PJ folks would always think of Elephant Thai which serves delicious and reasonably priced Thai food in air-conditioned place and beautiful ambiance. This time I brought the shop managers - Rajan, Angeleena and Alvin Yong here for dinner when they came here for training in HQ.

Tom Yam (Red)

The tom yam is so super spicy and tasty! We just ordered one for RM 9.90 only which comes in such a small portion for 1 pax. Rajan and Angeleena seem to love tom yam.

Clear Tom Yam Soup

Since Rajan love tom yam, we ordered Clear Tomyam soup which was less spicy and no less tasty.

Glass Noodle Soup and Stir-fried Vegetables

Alvin ordered glass noodle soup and stir-fried vegetables as he was on a none-carb diet. Tasted just normal.

Kerabu Mango

The Kerabu mango reminds me of my beloved Penang Nyonya food.

Squid With Lime

The big course of giant squid with lime is super spicy and sour but still tasted very delicious. The squid is also very fresh.

Sawasde Thai Kitchen & Cafe

Suddenly I had craving for thai food last weekend. I guess thats because I didnt eat Thai food when I was in Langkawi island for work purposes. So here I am to the nearest Thai restaurant in USJ. The last time i came here was with a stranger in one of my dangerous lifestyle in the past!

Tom Yam Seafood (RM 25)

I can safely say that the tom yam alone is more than enough for 2-3 pax! For 2 of us, we could have just eaten rice/plan bihun (RM 3) with this alone and get really full! There was so much ingredients inside as well as seafood in the amazingly spicy tom yam concoction!

Thai Style Sambal with Vegetables (RM 18)

When I ordered this earlier, I thought the vegetables was going to be fried with sambal and didn't expect it to be served ulam style as Jonathan didn't like ulam as much as me! But he loves the thinly sliced deep fried eggplant whereas I went crazy with the tastiest Penang nyonya styled sambal belacan which I brought back and kept for 2 weeks to be dipped into anything!

Hello! By Kitchen Mafia

I think me and my finally have a craze for Thai food. The trend amongst my office colleagues nowadays is to visit Hello! By Kitchen Mafia whenever there are any welcome/farewell/birthday parties.

It is my first time becoming Amway Am Buddy (Am Sister) for Krystle Kee. I just found out that we were Am Sisters. I plan to take her out for lunch and because I was my lazy self that day, I quickly did some make up on my face to appear presentable!

On 4 January 2017, I brought my new Am Sister to this cafe which she also read about and thought we need to make a booking beforehand to secure a place. We went there with my 'godmother' colleague - Sharine together. We had a lot of fun chatting in the cosy ambience of Hello! which was thankfully not that crowded.

Duck Ginger Fried Rice (RM 15.57)

This is ordered by Krystle as she more of a 'rice' person. The taste is quite ok.

Salted Egg Butter Milk Squid Pasta (RM 25)

This is the hottest bestseller here and the taste itself proved it true! The thick paste of butter milk has thoroughly covered the deep fried squid and also coated the pasta very beautifully. Ultimate heaven!

Hazelnut Latte (RM 11)

The latte is very fragrant and has strong flavours just the way I like it.
