Porki Society

For my birthday celebration in 2018, my godmum like colleague Sharine brought me to Porki Society since both of us liked Thai food. We ordered one of the set which comes with 4 bowls of boat noodles, pork balls, and also BBQ pork and a milk tea of our choice.

We also were very satisfied with the spicy tomyam seafood with glass noodles which have a beautiful combination of sourness and spice.

Serai @ Jaya Shopping Centre

My colleague Ain loves Serai so much so we went there again for lunch. She likes to try different delicacies which I love too.

Honeydew Blast (RM 14)

This is a blend of fresh honeydew, laici and lime and was a refreshing and incredible combo.

Asian Style Tiger Prawn Salad (RM 24)

The prawn salad is quite unique as the crunchy fresh prawns are made with laici too and young mango.

Deep Fried Crispy Brinjal (RM 16)

Surprisingly, to me, such simple food should not be ordered in a fancy restaurant but the spicy, crispy thin brinjal was so addictive. The spices is also unique.

Serai Platter (RM 27)

The Serai platter is great as an introduction to our the famous food in Serai such as assam pedas oxtail, honey squid and ayam goreng berempah. All sinful when I was on a diet. To me the oxtail is nothing to brag about but I love the honey squid and like all nyonya Penangites, the acar.

La Vin

I can say that I tried most of the food in Kuchai Lama besides Pappa Rich/KFC/McD (basically fast food) so I am always looking for something new here as it's my hobby, discovered La Vin which I always thought to be expensive because of the word "wine bar" below the signboard. They happen to have set lunch when we came even on a public holiday.

Cheesy Fried Chicken Chop (RM 15)

The chicken chop is huge, crispy, tasty and so value for money. The taste is simply unforgetable. The owners are certainly generous when it comes to ingredients. They even obliged when I requested to change the french fries to mashed potatoes.

Fish and Chips (RM 15)

The fish and chips also come in very big portion, with nachos to boot! It was very crispy too.

Even iced lemon tea is served so beautifully for the affordable price of the set lunch!

The Zun Express

We were shopping at Midvalley Food Fair and run out of ideas of where to have dinner and ended up eating for the first stall at a restaurant that we passed by many times but never tried as we thought they sell only soup. There was some dinner sets as below which comes with brown rice green tea or buckwheat tea and also daily special dessert which was surprisingly of high value whereby it was chrysanthemum jelly with wolfberries.

Yimuchao Braised Wine Chicken (RM 19.80)

The chicken has strong wine smell albeit cooked in different way with lemongrass.

Abalone Sauce Yee Fu Mee (RM 18.80)

As usual I was attracted by the word "abalone" , not realising the word sauce behind. Anyway, though I was not having a good appetite, I thoroughly enjoyed this noodles especially since it was laden with a lot of vegetables, prawn, fish.

Enoshima

It seems that Yuzu and Enoshima have become my favourite Japanese food haunts in Midvalley Mall. Here I am in Enoshima again during my leave day, somehow due to the reasonable prices and good taste and ambience.

Katsu Toji Set SL (RM 18)

I am not a big fan of deep fried food or Tonkatsu but somehow I like it in sizzling plates with raw egg and onions and a lot of sauce, perhaps the fact that they are served very hot and not overly fried fascinates me. The overall combo was just delicious.

There is a side dish of healthy salad with sourish sauce instead of mayonaise.

Kitakata Chashu Ramen SL (RM 17.80)

The chasiu ramen is very smooth, clear and tasty. It seems that ramen never goes wrong for me. The chasiu is thinly sliced too.
