This is the second time it happens with Minamotonoya Cafe, whereby the first time I went there, it was closed and I went to Gaga Western Food and this time round to, Thai U Up. I was not sure how great the food is as I only saw the kitchen and we entered from behind so it is also a surprise for us.
The ambiance is quite sophisticated and high class. The tables are all wooden. On the walls are pictures of Buddha.
Pineapple Fried Rice (RM 12.50)
The fried rice is amazing, very fragrant though the portion is a bit too small. There are a lot of seafood and big prawns and octopus too.
Green Curry Chicken Laksa (RM 15)
We were shocked when only the green curry arrived in a mini wok. Then when the original thai rice flour laksa noodles came separately, we put two and two together and realized it belonged together. The curry is very thick, fragrant and spicy enough. Due to the chef and waitresses are Thai origin, the laksa is amazing. My only complaint is there was not enough 'kuah' / gravy. The chicken pieces were also tender. I also like the green chilli spices and also small pieces of eggplant.
Kha Nom Jeen Kaeng BBQ Lamb (RM 20)
This restaurant is also famous for BBQ food so we decided to give it a try. The BBQ lamb was so tender, fragrant and simply fabulous. It was not as chewy as I thought. The sambal and sauces are also spicy enough and superb.
Lemongrass Juice (RM 3.50)
The lemongrass juice is just normal.
