Cafe Lafayette

I have heard so much about Cafe Lafeyette so I felt obliged to try it out today, well finally! I saw a lot of FB ads about this and also read my friend, Sin Yee's blog in anfield about how tasty and worth the price food is here.

The mix of rustic, international and oldies' style incorporated in the design is due to an interior design employed to specially design the place. From the moment you step onto the staircase, on the wall, you can see stickers of coffee, chocolate and tea. Then, halfway through the stairs, there is a red telephone booth with Paris Eiffel Tower on the wall.

When you reach the top of the stairs, there is a black board with Eiffel Tower Drawn again, probably because the owner likes Paris a lot.

As you enter the restaurant. you are greeted by an oldish cupboard too followed by a long lounge seating with romantic dim lights hanging from ceiling.

On the walls there are colourful photoframes that are made to look like postcards.

And there are cosy corners with those photo frames and also red roses.

Right at the end near the window, there are pictures of the tallest buildings in the world and also tin cases of them and seats with london influences.

Here's my review of the food:

Fish and Chips (RM 18.90)

There is a dinner set for Fish and Chips or Pesto Spaghetti whereby any of these orders after 7 pm would entitle you for mushroom soup and garlic bread and a top up of RM 5 would get you a Honey Lemon drink or Long Black.

The Fish and Chips seem like those bought from the freezer in the hypermarket. There are also potato wedges and a heap of salad with thousand island and the basic tartar sauce.

Mushroom Soup is delicious and not too diluted like the one served at Pizza Hut. The downside is that it has a little too much salt inside.

Mushroom Risotto (RM 15.90)

The risotto is so cheap here and I realized it is due to the rice not being the real authentic risotto ones. The rice is more like the normal rice. I love the mushrooms that a fried till brownish at the ends. Even though it only contains mushrooms, the rice is delicious except that again it is a little too salty. But at least it is better than the non salty version at D'Empire which was so expensive.

Hawaian Chicken Chop (RM 19.90)

This is grilled chicken with surprisingly, an egg  and a slice of pineapple on top and a piece of cheese with really thick blackish brownish sauce that was so super salty that I could not finish this. I am not one who likes wasting food but then again I could not help it this time round. The mashed potato was something like it was from the ready made one in the can.

Chocolate Rum Shake (RM 13)

This is the best item of the night. After all, I like anything alcoholic for drinks and food and ice-cream. The rum is very strong. It is so amazing that at least it saves the day.

Hot Honey Lemon
